free-claude-code is a Python proxy that intercepts Anthropic API calls from Claude Code CLI, VSCode extensions, and IntelliJ, then routes them to alternative providers — NVIDIA NIM (40 free requests/minute), OpenRouter, DeepSeek, LM Studio, or llama.cpp locally. Change two environment variables and your existing Claude Code setup uses the new backend. The proxy supports per-model routing, letting you send Opus requests to one provider and Haiku to another.
