FAQ
What is Ship or Skip?
Ship or Skip is a builder's search engine for AI tools and models. Type a tool name, describe what you want to build, or ask which model fits — you get a panel verdict, a stack recommendation, or a model pick, each paired with a ready-to-paste build prompt.
How are tools evaluated?
Every tool is scored by a seven-critic panel. The panel produces one verdict per tool (Ship, Skip, or mixed) based on workflow fit, model dependence, switching cost, pricing, and product moat. The panel deliberates as one body to preserve authority.
Why are some recommendations marked 'external'?
If a stack recommendation includes a tool not yet in the Ship or Skip review database, it's labeled as external. That signals the panel hasn't verified it — useful as a starting point, but you should test it like any other unreviewed product.
Who is Ship or Skip for?
Builders making real decisions: founders picking an AI stack, operators evaluating tools for a workflow, and engineers choosing models for a feature. If you're shipping with AI, Ship or Skip is the decision-support layer.
