Netlify Database launched as a generally available primitive on April 28, 2026 — a serverless Postgres database that's deeply integrated into Netlify's deployment workflow, with first-class support for the AI agent use case that every other database provider has bolted on as an afterthought. Provisioning is automatic: install '@netlify/database' and deploy, and a database appears. For local development, it provisions the moment you install the package. For teams already on Netlify who are building AI-assisted apps, the zero-configuration database primitive is a significant friction reduction.
