NVIDIA announced its open-source Agent Toolkit at GTC 2026, a modular software stack designed to help enterprises build and deploy autonomous AI agents at scale. The four-layer architecture includes Nemotron (open agentic reasoning models), AI-Q (a hybrid blueprint that routes tasks between frontier models and local Nemotron models claiming 50%+ cost reduction), OpenShell (a policy-based security runtime), and cuOpt (an optimization skill library).
